AGM 2021 Statement
Hi everyone
We hope you have had a great festive season and that the New Year celebrations were a safe and memorable occasion for you.
Now that Xmas is over and we've started 2022, we'd just like to bring you up to speed on the fees for this coming year. These were agreed at the AGM held on the 12th December 2021.
League Affiliation fees are £50 per league, along with a £50 fee per Interleague team joining the WY IL structure. Player registration fees are £12 per adult, £6 for youth (free for Youth County players) and £20 for anyone who wishes to register solely for individual card holder events.
All the forms needed to achieve any of the above are available to download at the top of this page.
2021 has been yet another strange year and we're all hoping 2022 will turn out to be a better one. Rest assured, with your continued support, and that of the Leagues, we will make the best of whatever it throws at us.
So to close I'd just like to say thanks to all the Management Committee for their hard work in 2021, and to all of you without whom none of this would be possible.
Take care and stay safe.
Regards
Kevin Armitage
WY Chairman.
County and Interleague latest news
Earlier this year we put a statement out outlining plans for County & IL for 2021 based on the information we had at the time. Regrettably things didn’t turn out quite as we’d hoped but things are looking up.
We had originally intended starting playing County matches again in August. However, it became apparent that the infection rate within West Yorkshire, and across the Region, was growing especially with the new variant that we’ve all heard about. The difficult decision was made to pull out of the County structure for the remainder of 2021 as it was felt that the risk just wasn’t worth it. This was backed up by a number of County players, who were all canvassed on the matter, having reservations and concerns regarding the number of players who would be in one place on match day. It wasn’t the easiest of choices but the health, safety and well-being of all our members is paramount. We are confident however that we will be starting as usual in 2022. Fingers crossed.
As for the IL season 2021. That, same as the County, was looked at carefully and with input from the teams we have gone ahead with that if only for half a season. It was felt that with the much lower number of players in one place it would be much easier for the venue, and the players, to be able to control the risk to each other. Following the 2nd fixture being played last Sunday we’re pleased to say that things appear to be going to plan.
2021 has not been an easy year for most of us, individually or collectively, but we are hoping that things will improve and we will get to the point where all this will be a memory rather than the norm. We’d like to thank everyone for their patience and continued support whilst we try and make the best of a bad situation.
With regards
West Yorkshire Management Committee
